XL Layoffs

Original Air Date: Monday, October 15, 2012

XL Foods laid off more than 2000 employees on Saturday - only to recall 800 who now return to their jobs Tuesday.

The sudden layoffs put a halt to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's review of the plant after the E. coli contamination scare.  However, with workers returning, recertification efforts are expected to resume.

Where have employees been left in all the confusion - and what has become of the union's demand for changes in the plant?
