XL Foods Employees Raise Red Flag

As federal inspectors continue their investigations of the XL Foods plant in Brooks ahead of a possible reopening, advocates for employees say the company needs to be more truthful in addressing food safety issues.
At a news conference this afternoon, union officials demanded improvements to food safety culture, raising concerns over production line speed, a lack of whistleblower protection, and the training of temporary foreign workers. The union is also calling for a public inquiry.
