Alberta Teens go to Parliament Hill
Original Air Date:
Friday, October 12, 2012
The 2012 Big Brothers Big Sisters Social Innovators summit starts in Ottawa on Monday where 25 Canadian teens will share their ideas for social action with federal politicians.
On their agenda: youth rights, privatization and stopping the rich from getting richer while the poor get poorer.
How active are Alberta youth in leadership within their communities? What do they want to say to federal politicians? What do policy experts think about their ideas?
Joining us for this discussion are
Giorgio Dechambre who will represent Edmonton at the 2012 Big Brothers Big Sisters Social Innovators Summit; Jared Burton, university student who is on the Board of Directors of The Alberta Party; and Dr. Jean-Sebastien Rioux, Director of Master's in Public Policy, at the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy.
