Alberta Youth: from Government Care to Independence

Original Air Date: Tuesday, October 02, 2012

To get a better picture of how to help children in government care, Alberta’s child and youth advocate is about to embark on a province-wide conversation with teens.

Del Graff will travel to several urban, rural and aboriginal communities collecting focus group feedback on the transition to independence.  Information gathered will go into a special report on how to best support those leaving or aging out of care.

What does Alberta’s Child and Youth Advocate hope to hear - and what will it take for teens in care of the province to open up?

We speak with Del Graff, Alberta's Child and Youth Advocate.
