Flexibility in the Alberta Workplace

Original Air Date: Monday, September 24, 2012

Striking a healthy work-life balance is of high priority for most employees, but with children, aging parents and financial pressures, the stress can become overwhelming.

Albertans allow themselves less leisure time than the national average: only five hours a day, according to the Canadian Index of Wellbeing. It’s a decrease of more than 18 per cent over 15 years.

Are parents allowed more flexibility than their childless colleagues?  Are employers doing enough to help everyone find balance? Can we really have it all?

Joining us for this discussion are Cheryl Meheden, an Instructor of Human Resource Management at the University of Lethbridge; and Connie Peters, former Albertan and the Founder and CEO of Modern Mama.
