Residential School Compensation

Tomorrow marks an important deadline for those who suffered abuse while attending Residential Schools - it is the last day former students can apply for financial settlement under the Independent Assessment Process.

Outreach workers have been combing the streets looking for anyone who might be eligible. In some cases, former students could receive a six-figure settlement.

How active have people been with coming forward? Has the deadline increased the numbers; and could it be extended so even more eligible applicants could register?

We speak with Jon Faulds, a lawyer with Field Law, and involved in the Residential School claims.
