An “Alison Wonderland” Budget

Original Air Date: Thursday, August 30, 2012

The province is announcing a new cap on spending and a review of capital projects. Revenue is down and the deficit is already poised to grow to $3-billion this year, more than three times what it budgeted.

The Official Opposition, the Wildrose Party, is howling about bad planning in a budget designed to win the election. The governing Conservatives insist economic volatility is to blame.

What should we make of the budget changes? How will they impact Albertans?

We speak with Kerry Towle, Wildrose MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake and the party whip.
