Employable and Homeless in Alberta

New numbers out from BMO Capital Markets suggest Calgary and Edmonton will see unemployment rates drop in the province - as rising oil prices create demand for more workers.

Despite this, a count of Calgary’s homeless found shelters are full to capacity. Many of these people are coming to Alberta in search of work and have found work but cannot afford housing.

How does increased economic activity help or hurt the homeless population? What can we expect these numbers to do as winter approaches?

We speak with Dr. John Rook, President and CEO of the Calgary Homeless Foundation.
