Fat-free, sugar-free and now gluten-free - a surge of gluten-free foods is hitting grocery stores.
Gluten-free food is vital for celiacs, but there are medical differences between gluten intolerance and gluten sensitivity and diagnosis can be difficult.
Are gluten-free foods good for the general public? Is this more than just another trendy food fad?
To help us understand the trend, Dr. Connie Switzer, she is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta. She is also Chair of the Professional Advisory Board of the Canadian Celiac Association.
