The social media revolution has hit the 2012 Olympics full-force. Athletes have been expelled for tweets. TV is competing against or teaming up with internet platforms. Fans are spewing unfiltered praise - and abuse.
Critics say social media's influence on these games is chaotic. Fans say, despite growing pains, we are witnessing an exciting Olympic evolution.
Is social media good for the games? Or should the world's biggest sports stage try to sidestep the digital playground?
Joining us for this discussion are Ray Bilodeau, a Marketing Instructor at the NAIT JR Shaw School of Business; and Kevin Jagger, an investment banker who quit his job to become a long track speed skater. Jagger has a shot at making Team Canada for Sochi 2014, and he recently gave the Canadian Olympic Committee a presentation called "Social Media for Athletes."
