Managing Pipeline Integrity

On the same day Enbridge announces design improvements to the controversial Northern Gateway project, Alberta’s Energy Minister unveils a major review of pipeline safety in our province.

An independent third party will be contracted to scrutinize the management of pipeline integrity, water crossing safety and spill response. The move follows three major spills and mounting pressure from more than 50 organizations.

What should Albertans expect from the review - and what could it mean for the pipeline industry?

We speak with Ken Hughes, Alberta’s Energy Minister.
