Living the Single Life

Original Air Date: Monday, July 16, 2012

Living the single life - the latest figures from Statistics Canada puts the number of Albertans who haven't tied the knot at nearly 30 per cent – a trend that continues to grow.

While some Albertans prefer to live life on their own, society still tends to view being single as a transition - a stepping stone for those looking for love, companionship and ultimately marriage.

Why are so many Albertans choosing the single life? What does this growing trend say about our societal values?

Joining us for this discussion is Jennifer Fisk, Blogger and Founder of Freestone Communications, a public relations firm in Edmonton; and Dr. Patrick Keelan, Registered Psychologist and Counsellor.
