Stampede Political Showdown

Original Air Date: Friday, July 13, 2012

“Western hospitality” or “showdown at the Stampede corral”?  Thomas Mulcair moseys into Cowtown. Our Primetime This Week Panel on the NDP leader's visit.

Of all the aspects of the Calgary Stampede, the evening performance, The Grandstand Show rarely provokes controversy. This week however, a change in the way the national anthem was sung sparked outrage. A newer version axed the French verses, and the Stampede was forced to reinstate the bilingual version.

With us on the Primetime This Week Panel is Michael Phair, former Edmonton City Councillor; Marty Chan, Playwright and Author; and Rob Breakenridge, Corus Radio Network.
