Near record temperatures are taking hold across much of central and southern Alberta, sending thermometers into the low 30's - much warmer than normal.
While many Albertans are accustomed to sizzling summer weather, what's different is the high level of humidity. That makes it feel like 40-degrees Celsius, which is warm enough to warrant power blackouts in Calgary and Edmonton.
Why is it so hot and muggy in Alberta? How do we cope with these non-traditional weather conditions?
